With CO HABITAT, artist Gabriele Sturm designs a vision of biodiverse urban areas in which a coexistence of “all” living beings is enabled—not an either or, but an as well as a large variety of vegetation communities, insects, wildlife, and anthropogenic habitat—a SUPER COHABITAT. With one of her interventions, a viewing walkway, the artist stages temporarily existing species-rich plant societies/biotopes of urban areas, which are in a waiting loop for a new spatial planning, as a possible format of public and social space.
Gabriele Sturm explores the relevance of such CO HABITATS for our quality of life in the city and offers a possibility to discover a paradise at every stop of her project.
