The Angewandte Festival 2021 of the University of Applied Arts Vienna spreads out into the city, claiming space for art and culture. In addition to the exhibitions of the artistic departments and the presentation of the final thesis projects in the university buildings around Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz, the diverse festival programme will be moved into the public space—as a strategy, but also to acknowledge the analogue and the physical, to provoke movements in the city and to incite encounters. In the run-up to the festival, a pre-programme-series will be introduced in public space starting in May.
